Taxis, Bus & Tours
Getting around without a car.
Although it is common for most visitors
to hire a car, there are many who do not want to or cannot drive
while here. Getting to your hotel or rented home and subsequent
travel in the area will require you to use one or other of these
services.
The variety of operators show that there is a greater need for this
type of service than you may imagine.
--- --- If you are looking at this category, then you're probably trying to
find the best way to get from an Airport to your accommodation.
We're happy to help you with this, so this section will begin with
the transportation services available from our two International
Airports - Orlando International Airport (MCO)
and Sanford International Airport (SFO)
--- ---
Orlando International Airport (MCO)
As the major airport, MCO is serviced by taxi and transportation
companies listed by the
airport authority.

Links to 'private' chauffeured
'meet and greet' limo and taxi services that coordinate
Airport pickups to the area's hotels and vacation homes.
Some even include additional services such a stop at a
grocery store. |

Orlando Sanford Airport (SFB)
There are a variety of different transportation services available
and possibly way too many for us to mention here.
For more information on this we are directing your attention to a
preferred list of
ground transportation
supplied by the Airport itself..
--- --- Note: As you review the various costs, an important point to
consider is that depending on your party size, it is sometimes much
more cost-effective to charter a town car or multi-passenger vehicle
rather than paying a per person amount.
Shop and compare using the links above or any one of the
transportation services that may be listed in this category.
--- --- Now that we've got you to your
accommodation...
How about all the other transportation services of the area?
--- --- Bus Services
The
Lynx Bus
system is a very frequent service, every half hour up and down most
of US192.
Check with their web site for times and prices.
Note - Routes
#55
&
#56 run along US192. But, route #56 is the
only one that goes to the Disney Transportation Centre. Best to look
at the web site for more information.

Taxis
As with all taxi services - World Wide. If you hire a cab from a
location, always take a licensed carrier.
If you book a taxi by phone, check through the Yellow Pages for a
local company and confirm the price before committing to the ride.
If you are staying in a major hotel, there may be cabs on duty but
it still is a good idea to get a rate from another company first.
Whether it's returning to the Airport, or just 'playing it safe'
when visiting the night-time festivities of Pleasure Island, a taxi
to and from might be preferred if not essential.
There are also chauffer driven limousines, vans, town cars,
mini-buses and motor coaches all available to shuttle you around.
--- ---
Tours
These are essentially all-inclusive transportation packages and will
usually include a pre-planned itinerary to area attractions, often
in a 'themed' format.
This is a great way to go if you're looking to maximize your
vacation time without missing the hidden highlights of an area.
They are generally very popular and can be cost-effective too.
Your driver will almost always be informative and entertaining as
they always seem to give a special flavour to these excursions.
