Supermarkets, Mini-Markets & Grocery Stores

Especially useful if you are staying in a Rented Home or Condominium...

We all gotta eat, right? So this section will cover the major Supermarkets, Grocery Stores, Mini-Markets and Convenience Stores located along the US192 corridor and the Orlando area.

There's Publix, Albertson's, Winn-Dixie, Kash N' Karry, and of course Wal-Mart Supermarkets (with its huge clothing section) of the major chains.

There are also many independent Mini-Markets, 7-Eleven and Circle K convenience stores to choose from.

You'll find these on almost every corner of US192.

Though not always offering the widest of selections their 'convenience' and opening hours make them invaluable.

Naturally, you will pay a little more for this convenience, but they remain a real time-saver, especially if you are without a car or just need a few items to complete you're shopping list.

Mini-Markets usually offer a staple of basic groceries, toiletries, bread, milk, cereals, etc. They are usually independently owned and operated. 

7-Eleven and Circle K also offer self-serve gasoline.

Although we are getting used to large Supermarkets selling just about everything, some in the Kissimmee area are truly gigantic. The key words here are Publix & Winn-Dixie. For, if you don't know their names, you won't know that they area Supermarkets!

On our first visit, we spent 2 days driving round looking for a Safeway Supermarket... There are no Safeway's Supermarkets in Florida.

So remember - Publix, Wal-Mart, Winn-Dixie.

Almost without exception, all area stores will carry both local newspapers as well as some of the more popular international editions. Catering to both the Spanish speaking and British visitor markets.
