Pharmacies
This section will give you some
guidelines to any pharmacy visits you may need to make while staying
in the area.
Your main reason for their services will
be for non-prescriptive items such as aspirin, nausea relief,
anti-acids, suntan lotions and the like. There are many to choose
from.
The main pharmacies in the area are CVS, Eckerd Drugs and Walgreen
Drug Stores.
Of these, Walgreen's is probably one of the more dominant of the
national names, though Eckerd's is close behind.
CVS is a relatively new name to the area, but it is a big name in
the northeast portions of the US.
Walgreen's has several locations along US Hwy 192 that have a
24-hour pharmacy, where Eckerd Drugs has only one to the best to our
knowledge.
It is always a good idea to call ahead as hours can change without
notice. Most pharmacies will also have photo processing available.
You can get their number from Yellow Pages.
--- ---
A few grocery stores may also include a pharmacy as part of their
service. However, it is important for you to keep in mind that this
is a select feature and may not be available at every store.
Some of the areas Department Stores also feature a pharmacy of their
own, Wal-Mart and K-Mart do.
As a rule of thumb, if not a 24-hour pharmacy, most will close at
9:00, 10:00, 11:00, or even midnight.
To assist you in finding the closest location on US Hwy 192, if your
hotel's street address is 'West' the street addresses will
be in descending order toward the City Centre.
If 'East', the same descending order would apply.
Only if the numbers become higher than your hotel's street address,
would you follow the addresses ascending. Either way, it's a
relatively easy system to find your way around.
Ask in your accommodation if you need help.

If you are staying in a Rented Home out at the far West end of US
Hwy 192, the Lake Davenport area, the Publix Supermarket at the
intersection of US Hwy 27 is open 24/7 and has a pharmacy.
