Banks
This section is meant to assist you in
finding the methods or locations available for exchanging Foreign
Currency to U. S. Dollars, cashing Travellers Checks or just getting
cash from one of the areas many ATM machines.

ATM's - Automatic Teller
Machines
ATM's can be found at most major grocery stores as well as in one of
the many 7-Eleven stores throughout the area.
Of these, Publix is probably one of the more dominant sources with
its 'Presto! International Banking Network'.
ATM's generally require withdrawal in increments of $20.00 with
limits imposed as to the daily amount.
Fees can range anywhere from $1.50-$2.00 per transaction, with
higher fees at the attractions and/or hotels.
Using an ATM for a cash advance from your credit card is also
possible, but always make sure that you have your 'Pin' number when
conducting your transaction. If you get the pin wrong, you will
loose your card! In addition please also realize that even though
you may have an available limit far beyond what you have requested,
many credit card companies have imposed daily limits on these
amounts.
Many a time, a frustrated vacationer has thought that they are
either doing something wrong, or that the machine wasn't working.
Where in actuality, they were simply trying to withdraw over the
daily limit.

Banks
In the event of you requiring a larger amount, go to one of the
local banks which are generally open from 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. Monday
through Friday. They will be able to perform a larger transaction on
your behalf as long as the cash limits are available.
There are usually higher fees for doing this, which could be in the
form of a 'fixed amount' or a percentage.
Foreign Currency exchange is available at most area banks and some
hotels. Naturally your best rate of exchange will be at a local
bank. There are exchange facilities at the Airport and at any of the
four parks in Walt Disney World. There may be a limit of $50.00.

Travellers Checks
Travellers Checks are generally an accepted method of payment at most
area businesses.
However, it is recommended that you carry these in the smaller
denominations - $20.00, $50.00 or $100.00. Larger checks, such
as $500.00, are especially difficult to cash.
A Travellers Check must be counter-signed in front of the sales
agent and must only be in U.S. currency.
Though policies will vary from business to business, Photo ID such
as a Driver's License or Passport may also be required. So always
have these with you.

Credit Cards
If you are visiting from abroad: You may get the best rate of
exchange by using your Credit Card for almost all purchases.
Carry as little cash or Travellers Checks as think you can get by on.
Check rates before you leave home.
