Clearly, one of the most memorable entrances into any of
the area's Subdivisions, was the ornamental double-headed dragon that
marked the entrance to Formosa Gardens Rd.
Kind of a permanent billboard that not only paved the way into this
grouping of Subdivisions, but also advertises one of the area's
lesser-known attractions – Florida's Splendid China.
Now Splendid China is closed but Formosa Gardens Road (Blvd) is even
more important as it leads to the subdivision developments in the
southern section of SR-429
.--- ---
After making the turn from US Hwy 192 onto
Formosa Gardens Rd., you'll find yourself passing the Formosa
Gardens Shopping Center which caters to most of the vacationers and
residents in this area.
Here, you'll find an assortment of restaurants, shops and services
including a Gooding's Grocery Store with wonderful Chinese
architecture.
Continuing your journey, you'll then pass the entrance to Florida's
Splendid China as the road begins to open up into the various
subdivisions.
Arriving at the first set of Stop Signs, this short section of road,
known as Formosa Gardens Rd. will then become Sandhill Rd. after
immediately going straight and across Funie Steed Rd.

Throughout this area are a group of communities set in woodlands and
small lakes. It is this type of environment that the Central Florida
area is well known for.
As there are a lot of Subdivisions located in this area and to help
you to get your bearings...
The 'Point of Entry' for Lindfields Blvd. is on
Map #1, Entry Point Blvd. is on
Map #2 and Old Lake Wilson Rd. is also on
Map #2. All these will get you here as well, but by a much more
roundabout route.
Just in case you make a wrong turn, some of the more predominant
roads that connect this network together are - Funie Steed Rd, Oak
Island Rd. and Sandhill Rd.
So if you do make a wrong turn, be sure that you don't go too far as
you are probably within a mile or so of your subdivision.
Best always to get your bearings before arriving.
If unsure, go back to US Hwy 192 and then enter via the
main Formosa Gardens Rd. entrance.
